My collections of essays "Hiking the Horizontal" was published by Wesleyan University Press in the spring of 2011. I am very glad to have these essays out in the world, and I've done readings at bookstores, arts centers, and academic gatherings around the country. I like to read from the book and talk to the audience and read some more. The book's content is broad, so I can customize readings to the interests of you and your audience through themes including making rules & breaking rules; holding ideas in multiplicity; the nature of criticism and its role in the life of a maker; the development of new aesthetics; the role of failure; what collaboration can mean; and the challenges of making a livable life.
Write me if you're interested in scheduling a reading.
