Dana Legawiec is a professional theatre artist, teaching artist, educator, and facilitator based in Maine. She draws upon three decades as a theatre maker and performer to facilitate embodied arts experiences that celebrate individuality within collaboration while fostering deep connection to place. Dana specializes in the application of Critical Response Process to educational settings, in community-building and place-based work, and in healthcare. Dana was named a Creative Community Fellow by National Arts Strategies for her work making theatre with children in rural Maine. Dana is currently collaborating with playwright Bess Welden on The Death Wings Project, a touring multimedia work that offers community workshops and performance to explore rituals of grief.
