Teaching Dance to Senior Adults (1984)
About Liz Lerman’s first book
Teaching Dance to Senior Adults was Liz Lerman’s very first book. She wrote it after almost a decade of teaching at the Roosevelt Hotel for Senior Citizens.
It contains early versions of choreographic tools that have been codified since then. There are wonderful photographs and great stories from a pioneering generation of older dancers who were Liz’s students and the first performers in Dancers of the Third Age.
(By the way, if you are curious about permission to use this image of Liz and her dancers doing Swan Lake, please be in touch with Dance Exchange, which owns the rights to it).
