Cynthia Myron is an artist, educator, and arts administrator who has integrated the Critical Response Process into her teaching for many years, both formally and informally. She is deeply committed to CRP as a framework that reconfigures traditional critique by shifting away from hierarchical, externally driven models toward collaborative, artist-centered dialogue. She believes this approach not only fosters more meaningful exchange but also strengthens artists’ sense of agency.

After initially incorporating CRP in informal ways, Cynthia experienced its impact on her own artistic practice and collaborative work, which led her to pursue CRP certification. She is currently the Senior Director of Fine Arts and Director of Graduate Studies for the School of the Arts at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA.
