Sumana is a Bharata-Nrityam artist and educator and certified trainer in Liz Lerman’s Critical Response Process® (CRP). Through CRP, she centers the value of every voice and the related principles of responsibility + response in any space she enters. Sumana’s practice of CRP is further deepened through the lens of domestic violence prevention advocacy and cultural humility. Her current project uses CRP for creative placemaking with survivors of sexual/domestic violence and practitioners of Indian dance. Sumana uses CRP to support artists creating new work, enhance critical thinking in classrooms, promote healthy relationships among youth, and guide administrative dialogue in various organizations, including Dansense-Nrtyabodha.
